Showbiz royalty during the early'70S, The Osmonds have sold over 77 million records thanks to such hits as Crazy Horses, Love Me For A Reason and One Way Ticket. Over 30 years on from 'Osmondmania', The Osmonds return to the UK to reunite with David Cassidy and David Essex for the Once In A Lifetime Rewind Tour, which also features Showaddywaddy. Keeping The Osmonds' flag flying is the now not so little Jimmy Osmond (above, centre).

What was the last film you saw?
Will Smith in The Pursuit Of Happyness - I ordered it up in the [hotel] room I was staying in while I was in Arizona. I usually like more light-hearted comedy stuff that I can take the family to. Before that I saw Wild Hogs, which was kind of a dumb film, but okay. I have a Harley [laughs], I'm a city guy who shouldn't own one...

Last album you bought?
Scissor Sisters' Ta Dah! I downloaded it. I like downloading - throwing it on your iPod seems a lot easier that buying a CD. I have [professional music studio software] Pro-tools, so I can download songs and edit them together for my own use which is kind of fun. I did a '70s megamix recently, which is great - from Queen to us - I had Crazy Horses on there, but just a snippet.

Last concert you went to?
My own! But somebody else's concert? Umm ... [long pause]. One of my favourites was The Eagles, who I saw a while ago. It was cool. I had my Harley, my wife jumped on the back, and we went to see them. Their music is still powerful - you can really detox and de-stress...

The last book you read?
It was a religious book - I teach in my church. It was a kind of manual on the life of the leaders of our church. I don't finish any books [at home], I start and then stop, and never seem to get to the end. I should read more, but my eye sight's going - it's what happens when you hit 40.

Last time you went to the theatre?
In London I saw [Wizard Of Oz spin-off musical] Wicked, which was great. Everyone knows all the back story, so you can see why people are so into it. I do love musical theatre. I did Joseph for two years, then Donny [Osmond, brother] did it, and everyone forgot about me [laughs]. I'd love to do something again, musical theatre in London'd be the ultimate, I love the energy. I'd do anything - be part of the chorus!

Last time you lost your temper?
About four days ago I had a huge rage, I was out of control. If you let things build up inside you, and you don't verbalise, you blow! I was really mad at myself.

What's always in your fridge?
Let me see... milk, orange juice, tuna fish, some Indian spread, eggs, strawberries, fruit of all kinds - you can tell I haven't been buying the groceries - and in the freezer there's ice cream, frozen fruit, chicken and fish.

Best piece of advice you've ever been given?
My mum [said] 'this too shall pass.' Life is full of challenges, but things will always get better. They say tragedy plus time equals humour. None of us get through this life without struggle, but life is worth it.

The Osmonds played with David Cassidy and David Essex back in 2005 for the original Once In A Lifetime tour - are you looking forward to the reunion?
That tour was so successful, when we were all asked to do it again, we all jumped at it. We all got on great and would help out on each others songs. You know, we were all nervous at first - would Cassidy fans like us? - but it was all about the music, about entertainment and having fun, and we got on so well. Backstage, Essex was playing soccer with my kids, it was great.

You've been on stage for a long time...
Oh I started performing 40 years ago on TV. I had to act, play sax, dance - you've got to play a show that's entertaining for all ages, you've got to mix up how you present it.

Will music always be part of your life?
Always, whether it's seen or not. I've got a studio here, and I made a little album and you know, it sold 65,000 copies online - that's amazing! All those people! A lot of stuff I've done is crap, but a lot has stood the test of time... I'll keep on doing it because I love it.
