Oh boy, the pop idols of yesteryear still have the beating of the current crop in my opinion.
The excitement, that only those of us old enough to remember the heady days of the 70s can really appreciate, rose once more as the crowd screamed the the sight of their teenage heroes back on stage.
Showaddywaddy, still in their trademark teddy boy jackets, but perhaps not quite so youthful anymore, gave an energetic performance.
They belted out the likes of "When", " Pretty little angel eyes " and " under the moon of love " before finishing with " Hey rock and roll " . we couldn't have asked for more.
David Cassidyhad a less than convincing start with a long instumental piece, and it was obvious that he hadnt quite got the audience on his side.
But once he started to perform the hit songs we all knew so well - "Cherish ", " Daydreamer" and " i think i love you "- he finally started to warm up.
David Essex proved he was still a true professional. Still looking incredibly sexy, he delivered "Hold Me Close ", "Rock On " and "Silver Dream Machine ", together with some new songs before finishing with "Gonna Make You A Star " .
Then came the boys from Utah-The Osmonds. Only the three of them this time, Wayne, Jay and Jimmy, but they didnt fail us.
They took us Down by the lazy river. They loved us for a reason, and we rode the crazy horses with them.
With polished dance routines and perfect harmonies they made us feel 16 again.
