First holiday memory?
As children, we were constantly touring, but we would occasionally take time off, which I suppose were holidays.
Best holiday?
Last year was great fun because I took my kids around Italy. They were at an age when they would be old enough to remember, so I took them to Venice, Florence, Rome and then onto Paris. It was a dream trip. We didn't do all the touristy stuff, we tried to just blend in.
Favourite place in the British Isles?
When I was very young I had some really wild experiences here, so I keep coming back. Nowadays I enjoy renting a car and experiencing it properly. I fell in love with Lytham St Anne's. It's really untouched.
What have you learnt from your travels?
I've learnt that there are nice people everywhere you go in the world.
Ideal travelling companion?
My wife and family. I don't like travelling anywhere without them.
Beach bum, culture vulture or adrenalin junkie?
When I was in Australia I fell in love with the Gold Coast, although I spent most of my time in the jungle, of course.
Greatest travel luxury?
I love my Sony Playstation Portable, which I bought for my kids and ended up keeping for myself - the older I get, the more I want to play with toys!
Where has seduced you?
Venice. I was really drawn to it and my family had a great time. I also love Maui in Hawaii for its beautiful beaches.
Better to travel or arrive?
I'm slightly afraid of flying, which I suppose becomes more common the more you fly. You wonder about the odds.
Worst travel experience?
Oxygen masks falling down while we were flying over Tahiti. The cabin lost pressure and we had to make an emergency landing. There were fire engines waiting on the runway, but thankfully we were OK.
Worst holiday?
I've never had a bad holiday, but I've had a lot of bad gigs. We once performed in Malaysia and the promoter ran off with the money. We went ahead and did the show anyway, but nobody clapped at the end. There were bloody bandages in the dressing room because there was guerilla warfare going on at the time.
Worst hotel?
The Sleepy Time Motel near Kansas City, Missouri. When my wife and I checked in, the room looked like a scene from a bad movie. It was really creepy and there was cat fur everywhere so we ended up sleeping in our clothes.
Best hotel?
The Palazzo Versace in Australia is really beautiful. My family were given a suite with a pool, but I didn't get to experience it much because I was in the I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here camp for so long. I also love the Four Seasons in Maui.
Best meal abroad?
A meal at Sophia Loren's house, which was fun. We had an incredible dinner of pasta with buffalo mozzarella and amazing tomatoes. I was a big fan of hers, so I'm not sure if it was the best meal because I was so enamoured of her, or because the food was amazing.
Favourite walk/swim/ride/drive?
There's a private beach near the Four Seasons Maui, which is just amazing - they ship all the sand in. I also do a lot of cruises. St John in the US Virgin Islands has wonderful beaches; you can see fish through the seawater it's so clear. It feels like you're walking in an aquarium.
First thing you do when you arrive somewhere new?
Sleep. Beds are a big selling point. That's another thing that I love about the UK - you guys really know how to make a bed. The Langham Hotel has fantastic beds.
Dream trip?
I would start in Hawaii and then go onto Japan where I used to live, then to Hong Kong and Australia. I used to own a place near the Opera House so I'd like to show my family that, then come back to London because I feel at home here. These are all places that I visited when I was younger so I'd like to take my family and experience it with them.
Favourite city?
London.
Where next?
I'm doing a tour with my brothers, but there's really nothing else on the cards. My dream is to do a musical in London.
The Osmonds tour begins at Portsmouth Guildhall on 23 February and finishes at the NIA Academy in Birmingham on 17 March (www.tdpromo.com)
